Biography

1941-1942 studies art history and architecture in Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart. 1946 studies under Xaver Fuhr at the Academy in Munich. 1949 master pupil under Willi Geiger in Munich. 1950-1956 press draughtsman at the 'Neue Zeitung' (the later 'Süddeutsche Zeitung'). Trip to Italy. 1953 visits Picasso in Vallauris. 1954 founding member of the 'Frankfurt Secession'. 1957 atelier in Paris. 1958 travels to Belgium. 1959 retrospective at Morsbroich Castle. 1965 moves to Nuremberg. Teaches painting at the Nuremberg Academy. Numerous stays in France.
