About the Work

An open window affords a view of the "Öd" parkland surrounding Holzhausen Palace in Frankfurt. On the windowsill lies an open Bible bordered by flowers, pointing beyond the domestic realm and out into luxuriant nature. Through the Bible and the reflection in the window, the earthly outside world created by God is linked with the interior world as a place of retreat and security within the family.
